Information about Brasov
 

Brasov is the capital city of the county of Brasov in the region of Transylvania. It is the main tourist, commercial, cultural centre and the most industrially developed city in Romania.

Brasov is on the Pan-European IV transport corridor, which links the main central European cities and the Black Sea with the North Sea. It has a railway line direct to Bucharest, the capital of the Romania.

Brasov is in a splendid location between the beautiful and impressive Carpathian mountains (The Alps of Transylvania), surrounded by the famous ski slopes of Poiana Brasov, Predeal and Sinaia.

Brasov is an ideal place to live or to have a second residence to enjoy mountain sports as well as discover mysterious Romania, with Dracula’s Castle as the principle tourist attraction.

 
 

Infrastructure developments

The DJ112A ring road around Brasov to access the new airport (Planned for 2009) in 10 minutes.

The “Transylvania” motorway, already in construction (Planned to finish in 2008), that will link Bucharest and Brasov in approximately 1 and a half hours by car.
